Be Well Vermont

Be Well Vermont is passionate about informing and educating our community about health, healthcare, and wellness – both the challenges and potential solutions. Be Well VT is committed to increasing access to healthcare, healthy activities, and community wellness and connections.  Be Well VT focuses on working with partners, programs and organizations pursing activities providing more access and support for health, healthcare, and wellness initiatives for all ages and all abilities.

Fostering Inclusive Active Living in Vermont Communities

Increasing the focus on active living and expanding access to healthy and affordable activities is essential for good health and should be accessible to ALL people of all ages and abilities. In Vermont, healthy and vibrant communities are full of connections that reflect a sense of place and strengthen individual and systemic wellness. Healthy and vibrant communities also support human connection and thriving economies with spaces for gathering, movement, business, and creating memorable experiences for everyone.

Expanding Youth Opportunities: Be Well Vermont’s Commitment to Year-Round Programming

One of the main areas of focus for Be Well Vermont is increasing activities and access for Vermont’s youth offered in the area.  Children spend an average of 80% of their days out of school.  Our goal is to expand after school, winter months and summertime programming.  Afterschool programs have emerged as valuable resources that provide academic support, enrichment activities, workforce development opportunities, mentoring relationships and more. Vermont’s youth need a place to go when they are not in school; activities and areas that are available to them year-round. Across the country, after school programs have been chronically underfunded for decades, and the unmet demand among families has reached an all-time high. Here in Vermont, more than 26,000 youth each year are waiting for an available program. Be Well VT is excited to engage in this important and impactful initiative.  For more information on Be Well VT’s Youth Programming Initiatives, please go HERE.

Building Inclusive Connections for Better Health in Vermont

There are hundreds of people across Vermont who share the common goal of helping people improve their physical and mental health. Building more connections throughout the various networks and organizations will strengthen and enhance the availability and quality of programs and projects for helping address mental health and physical challenges. Historic and modern practices within communities in Vermont – like much of the country – have created barriers that prevent BIPOC, LGBTQ+ people, people with low income, and people with disabilities, among others, from accessing and enjoying Vermont’s outdoors. One of Be Well Vermont’s objectives is to work with partners and organizations to expand opportunities and reduce barriers so that all people feel welcome.  For more on Be Well VT’s Inclusion Initiative; please go HERE.

Empowering Youth Through Health and Wellness Education

Be Well Vermont is also committed to not only informing and educating about the impact of living an active and healthy life but also can be seen as a pathway into a life-long career for young Vermonters.  Building and creating a way to better engage young Vermonters looking to work in the health, healthcare, wellness, and community recreation is vital to keeping our young aspiring Vermonters closer to home.  For more on Be Well VT’s Education Initiative please go HERE.
